"With the implementation of the Common Core there is a real need for mathematics content education that will build teacher candidates’ knowledge and skill so they are prepared to support their own students in meeting the Core Academic Test of Content Knowledge (CCSS) and the PARCC assessments." Mission:

• To prepare teachers in the pipeline
• To engage practicing teachers
• To ready students who plan to transfer to four-year academic institutions

Objectives: 

• to highlight best practices of mathematics and mathematics education professors from two- and four-year colleges and universities
  
• to support the mathematics education of pre-service teacher candidates at both two- and four-year institutions of higher education
• to provide resources that “Bridge the Gap” between the two year and four year institutions, providing a seamless transfer.
• to support a deeper understanding and appreciation of the mathematics that is required to teach as outlined in the CCSS
